1 ¼ cups sugar
¾ cup butter
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup milk
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 recipe Fudge Frosting (see below)
In a pan heat 1 ¼ cups of sugar, ¾ cup butter, and ½ cup cocoa powder over medium heat till butter melts, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Stir lightly just till combined. Combine 1 ½ cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon baking soda. Add flour mixture and 1 cup milk alternately to chocolate mixture, stirring after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into a greased 13 x 9 -inch pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 20 minutes or till a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool 2 hours. Frost with fudge frosting. Enjoy!
4 ¾ cups powdered sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup butter
⅓ cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine 4 ¾ cups powdered sugar and ½ cup cocoa powder. Add ½ cup butter, ⅓ cup boiling water and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat with a mixer on low speed till combined. Beat for 1 minute on medium speed. Cool. Frost brownies.
