It was a lot of back breaking work even with most of the furniture carefully organized in the garage. Moving just isn't easy work and certainly not when you try to do it alone. It took us about four hours to load the truck. Some of the reason it took that long was because it takes careful planning during the loading process. We weren't moving down the road but 4.5 hours away so everything needed to be packed in tightly with the weight evenly distributed, and everything had to fit. I'm thrilled to say that when we arrived in Georgia, not one thing moved in that truck.
We were exhausted!
The following day brought more challenges as we tried to deal with our van that had a flat tire and was parked down a dirt road near the property manager's home. This resulted in a bit of a nightmare as we found the spare tire was also flat...one thing led to another and we had a more serious situation with the tire exploding off the van on the interstate. This left us broke down once again as we waited for AAA to arrive and tow the van home.
By the start of the week though, armed with the goal of tackling one room at a time, one day at a time, the house started to take shape.
