We have a busy day planned for tomorrow. Besides it being library day, we have a baking project lined up, science notebooks to work on and a house to clean.
This is going to be an interesting project.
"UnBOOlievable", it is October already! There has been entirely too much monkey business going on this week. I turn my back for a second and Mr. Monkey, as Sydney calls him, was giving out my special monkey stickers during science class. I mean REALLY, the monkey and frog stickers are for special occasions. :D I also caught him giving out candy corn during arithmetic class. Mr. Mischief would be a better name for him! I swear, every week I find new things to laminate. It is an addiction! I laminated Post It notes with Roman Numerals written on them. Syd can review Roman Numerals while she practices telling time. I laminted star post it notes so that I could use them again and again. I bought a pack of fake money for Sydney to practice counting, just like her classmates do during class. She loves counting money! On the food front I came up with a great use for leftover chilli. I made a chilli, cheese quesadilla. Maybe I'll call it a quesachilla. I had some garlic butter spread leftover from garlic toast that Clint made. I spread it on one side of the flour tortillas. You can make your own garlic infused butter very easily. Added sharp chedder cheese, and chilli. Folded it in half and fried it buttered side down. This was way better than I hoped it would be! I am also taking a real liking to adding sliced cucumbers to chicken salad sandwiches for a little added crunch. This week I made a big meatloaf and a generous amount of mashed potatoes so that there would be plenty leftover. Don't be "chicken", make a great supper in just 15 minutes by reheating those leftover potatoes, crockpotting the chicken, and microwaving veggies. After making a big pot of chilli, a meatloaf and extra tators, leftovers were my saving grace this week. :D It helped to make daily meal prep quicker and slicker! We have a busy day planned for tomorrow. Besides it being library day, we have a baking project lined up, science notebooks to work on and a house to clean. Syd's animal notebook is coming along nicely. She will finish up the "mammal" section tomorrow. Aaron's science project will span the course of twenty weeks. The first draft of the background paper is due on Monday. The background paper is a brief overview of essential general information concerning his topic, computer simulations. Then, he has to include a short description of possible investigations that could be done relating to that topic. This is going to be an interesting project. Here's to tying up loose ends on a busy, productive week.!
