It’s been another busy week around here! But not so busy that we can’t take time out for a special treat! I’ve been busy organizing, sorting, listing and selling used curriculum on Ebay. It’s a nice little temporary side business I run during the month of July. I’m really just trying to recoup some of the money spent on last year’s curriculum to reinvest in this year’s curriculum. I also want to free up the space for all the new books. Speaking of new books, I’ll post a separate unboxing Abeka 9th Grade Curriculum over on my Abeka Academy blog tab here shortly. We are also trying to tackle painting the school room this month. It’s going to be quite a project because of needing to replace drywall tape. It’s not going to be fun but it does need to get done. School Starts August 10th! It’s almost time to start back to school shopping! I scored 12 packs of lined paper for pennies at a yard sale of all places, last week. I know Walmart is stocking their shelves with school supplies. I don’t really need much this year other than some new calendars for the school year, individual subject notebooks, and index cards. That’s about it. Syd and I made our own homemade bath bombs out of all natural ingredients… baking soda, citric acid, epsom salt, and coconut oil. Gardening - I just marvel at the amount of peppers and tomatoes that can be grown right inside a simple pot that is filled with some good potting soil. Container gardening seems to be my jam this year. I was ecstatic to pick the first zucchini of the gardening season! And to add fresh basil from the garden to our focaccia pizza! I still can’t get over how many Zinnias grew in the big pots I planted out front. I had no idea a 20 cent pack of seeds would really produce such a beautiful array of flowers. I collected a variety of seeds from the flowers themselves to save for next year. I just saved myself 20 cents! I also made a healthy turkey bacon, egg, broccoli and cheese quiche. It was delicious and healthy too! And stuffed peppers with fresh garden zucchini on the side. Here’s to a busy but beautiful summertime week.
