She started a unit on plants and I was happy to make her some posters to go along with her first chapter. Construction paper is my friend. :D
Is it football season already? I am trying to be more supportive of the area I live in, but that isn't going to cut it for my Steeler lovin', die hard fan of a husband. :D I thought maybe his love for birds would help persuade him to soar with the Falcons, but it's Steelers all the way with him. Both teams won today! :D Breakfast was AMAZING! Clint really out did himself making homemade cinnamon rolls with buttercream icing. Mrs. Grove has nothing on these luscious babies. These were hands down the best cinnamon rolls that we have ever had. The buttercream icing was the best! These could not have been any better. Frugal decorating idea of the day: I had some raffia ribbon left over from a craft project we worked on last year. I think I bought it for $1.00 at Dollar Tree. I repurposed it by tying a decorative bow on the lamp that Aaron made with my dad (he is kind enough to let me borrow it). You can use raffia ribbon for wrapping gifts, numerous other crafts, and for an added decoration on a lamp or jar or whatever else you can think of. Somebody is really taking her time writing her spelling words. She has to practice her words everyday because if she misses any the day of the practice test, she has to write misspelled words ten times each. YUCK. :) We even took the spelling homework to the dentist office to work on in the waiting room while Aaron was at his dentist appointment one afternoon. Syd wanted to share four of the capitalization rules she reviewed this past week. Her teacher made it a fun review by using different colored ice cream scoops, which listed the rule using a word or two on the scoop. I love this kind of stuff and made the scoops for Syd to use for review. Aaron was even willing to be recorded reciting his memory verse for the week, John 5:24. His verses change weekly where as Syd's Bible verses change monthly. Syd passed her first science test with flying colors. She got an A+ and it was a good thing she did because she doesn't like to get anything less than that. She is quite the little perfectionist. She started a unit on plants and I was happy to make her some posters to go along with her first chapter. Construction paper is my friend. :D A little reminder of why all the time, effort and sacrifice is worth it. Here's to another productive week!
