However, I am NOT a fitness guru! I am a middle aged woman who is BUSY running a full time homeschool by day, running a household by night... not into exercise... would rather bake a dozen cakes from scratch - blind folded - with one hand tied behind my back... than move a single muscle to exercise... type of person.
The main reason I put forth the effort to get some type of exercise is to maintain good health. I would love to look fit, firm and fabulous, but I know the sacrifice and time involved in making that happen. No, I am just trying to make a conscious effort to move more and eat less.
Leslie's program appeals to me for four reasons.
1. You don't need any fancy, expensive equipment.
All you need is a small area in front of your television or computer, and a pair of sneakers.
2. There aren't any complicated moves to perform.
It is an easy walking routine.
3. Small time commitments. If you only have 15 minutes to spare you can get a mile of walking in. It's a 4 mile per hour pace to get the mile in the 15 minute time frame.
4. No cost. The library has a nice collection of her videos. I am able to pick and choose which one I want to try out for the week, absolutely free. :)
This week I chose "Walk Slim".
I walked a total of 7 miles using this program in five days. There was an option to walk the 12 minute mile at a 5 miles per hour pace if you really want to get an extra mile in. I liked that option! The music was fun and it was an energizing workout.
