Valentine's Day

We counted our way down to Valentine's Day with daily Bible verses about "love".
Picture
The Bible verses I used to evaluate my "love walk" were...

Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is
envious nor boils over with jealousy; is not boastful or
vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not
conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not
rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love
(God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or
its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or
fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done
to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does
not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices
when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything
and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe
the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all
circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
Love never fails [never fades out or becomes
obsolete or comes to an end] (1 Corinthians 13:4-8,
The Amplified Bible).

Yesterday for breakfast I made "eggs in a basket" and cut out heart shapes for the occasion. Simple, but fun!
Picture
Sydney isn't a fan of eggs so I made her favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the shape of a heart for breakfast yesterday.

Syd and I took a trip to my favorite place for decorations....the Dollar Tree. I decorated the table last night for our Valentine's Day breakfast.

This morning I took a can of cinnamon rolls that I bought from the grocery store, unrolled them into heart shapes and baked them, added one drop of red food coloring into the icing... and there you have it... cinnamon hearts. I dipped the rim of the plastic cups in chocolate syrup and then dipped them in sugar to give the cups a chocolate, sugar coated rim. Then I poured the chocolate milk into the cups.

During breakfast the kids gave us their special Valentine Cards. I loved them! Syd's card was so cute. She said I was the best toy she ever got. :) I will be keeping these treasured cards for life.
Picture
I made white and milk chocolate covered pretzels for the loves of my life.

At breakfast I surprised the kids with Valentine cards that my parents sent them. I had been stashing them all week in a secret hiding place. They were so excited!

In order to decide what our Valentine dinner would be, we each wrote our favorite meal on slips of paper and placed them in a hat. It was up to Syd to draw the winning meal. I won! YES! We are ordering Chinese takeout!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
