As you can see in the photo below, the kids were having a good deal of fun this weekend, and weren't ready to get back to work today either!
Sydney finished up reading her second reader last week, and started the classic story "The Swiss Family Robinson". This poor family finds themselves stranded on a desert island after a shipwreck, and they learn to use the island's natural resources to make a comfortable home. There are a lot of good character values woven throughout the book including creativity, resourcefulness, and faith in God. This is going to be a good read.
One of the things that did make Monday more tolerable was the use of weekend leftovers for meals. "Love your leftovers!" They save you time and energy.
