Her History class is going well. She is reviewing the continents and oceans, learning all 50 states and learning the meaning behind patriotic holidays and songs.
I took a few pics of the front of the building today and included them below.
Healthy Meal Ideas - Cursive Handwriting - Saint Patrick's Day Decorations - GRAND OLE OPRY2/22/2014
This week we recommitted ourselves to a healthier diet. We decided to be a bit a more drastic with our diet and remove all carbohydrates (other than vegetables) for two weeks. For me, it was harder than I thought it would be. I wasn't having trouble with cravings but I was having a lot of trouble dealing with a total lack of energy. After feeling depleted of energy for two days in a row and having MUCH work to do with no energy to do it, I decided I better eat a healthy carb. for at least one meal. So I added blueberries back into my diet for breakfast and am feeling a lot better. I hopped on the scale to check my progress Friday morning and lost 4 lbs in 5 days. Another busy week with school. Sydney has been doing well with her cursive handwriting. In Math class she is learning how to borrow when you subtract numbers, which I thought would give her trouble but hasn't at all. I give the credit to her teacher Mrs. Chapell for explaining it in such a fun, easy, effortless way. Her History class is going well. She is reviewing the continents and oceans, learning all 50 states and learning the meaning behind patriotic holidays and songs. Sydney's teacher always encourages the students to do their best and she is good about rewarding best efforts with simple, little awards just like the ones I have posted a pic of below. I have made lots of little paper awards the past several months to give to Sydney when she takes the time and effort to do her best writing or when she reads smoothly with good expression. I made a shamrock banner out of scraps of paper for the fireplace and dug out some decorations for Saint Patrick's Day. Sydney had fun making a few festive crafts that I had left over from last year. Aaron moved right into a unit in Math on graphs and statistics. This has been an easy unit for him. He enjoyed making different graphs - bar graph, pictograph, line graph, circle graph, etc. He will finish this unit up with statistics and head into a unit in Algebra. We went back to the Grand Ole Opry today to show the kids what it looks like. When we were here visiting last year in April our friend Bruce took us to see a show and we were escorted in through the back of the building, went backstage to see how it all works, sat on stage all evening (right behind the drummer) and had an up close and personal view of the performances. It was totally awesome!!! I took a few pics of the front of the building today and included them below. A rare photo of me because I am usually the one taking all the photos. Aaron took this pic of Syd and I sitting on a bench at the Grand Ole Opry. Here's to another busy week here in TN! ~TracyComments are closed.
