Last But Not Least

Well, this is it! The last blog post until after the move. Today is the day to finish up packing, tearing down our kitchen table and unhooking the washer and dryer. That means I have to finish up washing and drying all laundry to this point.

All the stuff in the closets have been packed up except for the one I'm using to hang our clothing in.

We cleaned out the kitchen appliances. Give a shout out to the hubster for cleaning out that oven!

As you can tell, I have taken lots of pictures of the rooms in the house just as a precaution. The rental company we have been dealing with has been very professional about everything and we don't expect any problems but I did take plenty of pics to show that we are leaving the property in proper condition, with no damage whatsoever, thoroughly cleaned.

The kids have made it through the past few days of sleep overs in the living room on the couches.

Most of our stuff is in the garage waiting to be loaded into the moving truck. We will wrap the furniture in moving blankets when it is loaded. The only thing left in the house is the living room furniture, kitchen table, washer and dryer.

The meals this week have been kept very simple. Today will be the last day that I will be "cooking" food. Tomorrow will be a sandwich lunch and Little Caesar's Pizza for supper (followed by one last run to Sonic for ice cream), moving day will be meals on the go similar to the ones I packed on our traveling day.

Tomorrow morning the Penske truck will arrive around 10:30 AM and the loading will begin. After that a break is in order and then a final clean up of the house. Saturday morning, bright and early, we will be heading out and I will be following that yellow brick road...I mean yellow Penske truck, to Georgia. The final inspection of the new house is scheduled for 2:00 PM and the unloading will begin.

This is how we planned and prepared (all bathed in prayer) to relocate to another state. It isn't the only way to do it, hiring a moving company is a much easier way but much more costly. The older we get, the less likely we'll be doing this on our own! The extra cost will be well worth it by then! :)
