Update: Trip to State Botanical Garden - Grilling - Baking - Pine Mountain Nature Trails - New Roof - Whit's Frozen Custard
Hello everybody! I hope you are doing well. It has been a busy spring season for us. Clint and the kids took me to the State Botanical Garden of Georgia over Mother's Day weekend. They have such beautiful garden displays. It's a place guaranteed to lift your spirits.
Grilling season has begun! Yay! Clint has been grilling chicken and cheeseburgers over the weekends.
Syd baked some patriotic, chocolate cupcakes for Memorial Day. They were delicious!
A-A-Ron a.k.a. Frankie, designed a really cool shirt that features his own animated characters on it. Super cool! The employees at Hot Topic were freaking out about his shirt when they saw him at the mall. They LOVED it!
Clint made the arrangements to have our roof replaced. The roofers came, tore off the old and installed the new... all in a day's work... incredible. So grateful for their hard work.
Alex, Syd and I went on a nature hike up at the Pine Mountain Gold Mine.
Clint helped me plant a small flower garden this year. I also planted a tomato and pepper plant too. Not all the flowers are blooming yet but the marigolds definitely are. The rose bushes are also in bloom.
We also finally put the absolute final touches on the master bathroom renovation project. We were in search of a curtain that would be a nice fit for the space near the bathtub, and we wanted a few decor pieces in the water closet (the toilet room within the bathroom). We are thrilled with the way it turned out.
Clint found an awesome place to go get rich, creamy, frozen custard... Whit's Frozen Custard - made fresh daily. It's about a 40 minute drive away, but let me tell you... it's totally worth the drive. It is that good!
This weekend we will be celebrating Sydney's sweet sixteen birthday. She requested a 1950's - 60's diner theme. So with that in mind, we better get to decorating and baking that peanut butter cheesecake!
Talk to ya soon!
Hello everyone. Happy Sunday! This week was a big week for Sydney. She started the second phase of her orthodontic treatment. Here we go again... round 2 ... brace yourself girl... braces for the next two years. Her teeth are in good hands with Dr. Niles Woodall. He's the man to get the job done. If he can't do it, no one can.
Clint finished painting the kitchen on Saturday. It turned out great! The color is pottery wheel. It's just a little bit darker than the original color. I cleaned and sanitized every square inch of the kitchen floor. Not that anyone would ever want to, but they could eat off the floor, it is that clean... at least for today.
Clint's recording studio is almost all setup. Most of the recording gear was delivered over the weekend. He's still waiting on a few overhead microphones to arrive, but it's coming together nicely. I'm so excited for him.
That's all folks! Talk to ya soon.
Here we go again. It's already Monday and I'm wondering where the weekend went. Clint was pretty busy this weekend working on two major projects. One project was prepping the kitchen, getting it ready to be painted.
The issue that is slowing down the progress is the fact that the drywall nails that the original contractor used were too short, and they are popping out everywhere. Clint had to dig out and remove the nails and replace them with longer drywall screws so that they actually stay attached to the studs.
On a positive note, the other part of the room is finished. I love the color. It's Behr Paint - Pottery Wheel - N250-3. Clint is doing such a great job.
The other project he was working on was setting up a drum recording studio in Aaron's old bedroom. This is long overdue and I'm really glad he's able to do this.
He's finally going to be able to share his lifelong passion and knowledge of drums and Aaron will be able to record him. They can record all things drums... from beats, to sounds, to tuning, to songs. His musicianship can be passed down and live on.
All that's left to do is wait for the recording equipment to arrive this week... oh yeah and I'm sure Aaron will want his movie pics taken down and moved to his new "apartment" upstairs in the room above the garage. :o)
Syd and I went out to do a little Easter and grocery shopping. We stopped at a local park to look for signs of spring. The weather was beautiful and so was this tree.
On Saturday night Clint made fresh cut fries and classic BLT's. They were delicious!
Sunday night Aaron bought Little Caesar's stuffed pretzel crust pizza. It was really good.
This certainly was a high calorie, high carb weekend! It was fun while it lasted.
Back on the wagon today. We are going to have to work off all the food! Happy Monday y'all!
