Shopping for school supplies starts in the beginning of July around here, partly because the stores have the best deals in early July, and partly because school actually starts in the beginning of August. Our first day of school is August 10th. I live in a small town just outside of a big, BUSY city and traffic is HORRIBLE. So although I have access to most any store you can think of, I choose to AVOID the HORRIBLE traffic by shopping at the stores within my itty bitty town. Unfortunately that also means that I don't have the luxury of getting those great school supply deals that Staples or Office Depot will offer this time of year. But what I was able to get were some decent deals within five minutes driving distance of my home, at the local Walgreens. Index cards for $0.39 a pack. Pencils for $0.99 a 20 pack. Elmer's Glue for $0.39 each. A planner for $5.99. Puffs tissues for $0.74 a box. Filler paper for $0.69 a pack. Notebooks for $0.49 each. Happy school shopping, may you find a steal of a deal!
