It is that time of year again to be on the lookout for good deals for school books and supplies for next year. There is still much planning to do but I am getting started now so that I can take all summer to collect everything that's needed, at my leisure. My number one resource will be, always has been, the public library. It is a true gem! Having access to tons of books on any given subject that you can think of, for free, will always be the best deal in town. No need to have extra book shelves or storage space because you return the precious jewels monthly. With the addition of borrowing ebooks from the library's database, I can also download books right onto my Kindle for free too!
Our weekend is in full swing and we have been busy! I have also been paying close attention to the books that are donated to Goodwill and have been snagging resource books for 50 cents to a dollar a piece. Today's major deal was the $100 Leap Frog globe that I purchased at Goodwill for $4.99. Syd has been having fun playing her way around the world with it today. The kids have been busy working on their own projects. Aaron was studying explorers in History and was inspired to create this short Lego Documentary on Christopher Columbus. This is the first part. He plans to add to it as we continue on in the study. We also made some cupcakes to celebrate the year of Luigi, Aaron's favorite Nintendo character. Syd wanted to decorate some cupcakes with her favorite Disney characters from the movie Frozen. I tried to come up with Spring decorations for the mantel but ended up finding Easter eggs instead. Here's to busy, productive days!
