One year I actually took the time to make real gingerbread, rolled out the dough, cut out all of the house pieces, baked them, and the kids constructed real gingerbread houses.
I was actually willing to do that again but the kids weren't willing to make this an all day project, so we took the easy way out and just used graham crackers.
Two years ago Clint helped Syd a good bit and they constructed a church building, but this year she had total creative freedom. I only helped hold the pieces of her house together so she could glue them in place.
Aaron only needed an extra set of hands to help hold his house pieces in place so he could glue them too. He knew exactly what he wanted to do. I just needed to get out of his way. :)
He made Luigi's house.
Unfortunately Luigi was not aware that Mario was on the other side of his house decorating it Mario style.
Fun, food and architecture!
