Welcome to summertime in Southwoods. Our summer schedule is in full force and that means... early to rise, make beds...
and serve breakfast for those who want it.
Then it’s outdoors to water the garden. The marigolds are hardy with a large number of orange and yellow blossoms.
The zinnias are gushing with big, colorful, beautiful blooms.
It’s time to clean out the refrigerator.
The bathroom drawers and cupboards were in desperate need of some organization. It’s time to purge, clean and organize the stuff.
I made a simple sugar cookie recipe and cut out flower shapes to celebrate the summer season. Flowers, one of the many beautiful blessings of summer.
Clint made his favorite apple cake that his grandmother used to make.

I can't believe we're celebrating Sydney's 15th birthday already! She's growing up way too fast for me.
She chose Mister Rogers for the theme of her party because he's been such an inspiration to her.
I made Mister Rogers sweater cookies for the celebration.
She requested her dad's special spicy chicken sandwiches and potato salad for her birthday dinner.
Her sister Linn took the day off work to take her out on a shopping spree and to watch A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood with her.
She chose her dad's special Cinnamon Roll Cake for dessert.
She received some very special gifts from her nephew Alex. He really knows his Aunt Syd well!
Aaron got her a Mister Rogers talking figurine.
She received so many heartfelt birthday greetings and gifts from family.
Her sister spoiled her rotten with a whole collection of Mister Rogers gifts including a red sweater.
Her dad and I got her a guitar.
Happy birthday Sydie! We love you!
