This week's art project for Sydney was a simple fall collage. A collage is a variety of materials glued together to form a picture or design. We used some leftover materials that I had around the house to add some different textures to her fall harvest picture.
Syd cut out small pieces of felt and glued them to the tree trunk to add rough-looking texture. She glued red pompoms (apples) to the tree.
She glued green yarn to the pumpkin vines to add a textured line, and glued raffia to the sheaf of grain.
She twisted green paper squares over the eraser end of a pencil, and glued the "leaves" onto the vine.
She added some "sparkle" to the sun using glitter, and outlined the section lines on the pumpkin with orange crayon, smudged the color toward the inside of the pumpkin, to make it stand out.
All in all this was a fall fun-filled collage.
